Structure and Content

The LAICS Master is a 2 year part-time education.  The programme is spread over 4 semesters and grouped around 4 modules at a total of 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits. Each module is worth 15 ECTS credits.

Modules are offered as part of the LAICS Master or can be taken as single modules - upon successful completion of a single module including assignments, readings and exams, proof of credit (15 ECTS) will be granted.

Modules may be taken in random order with the exception of Module 4 - the final Master Thesis - which can only be taken after successful completion of modules 1, 2 and 3. However, if you are planning to take the full Master then it is advisable to take Modules 1 and 2 prior to enrolling on Module 3.

Modules 1 and 3 are only offered in the Autumn semester and Modules 2 and 4 are only offered in the Spring semester.

Each LAICS module is delivered over the course of 3 intensive seminars. The duration of each seminar is typically 3½ days. In between the seminars participants complete assignments, work in groups and participate in virtual dialogues.

During modules 1,2 and 3, one of the seminars within each of the modules will be held abroad.
