Workshop 5: Best Practices in VIDA

?Room A220
Discussant: Ulrik Brandi
Moderator: Kristina Kristoffersen

The workshop offers concrete examples of how four VIDA institutions work with innovative methods and tools introduced by the project. Focus will be on:

  • Systematic and targeted efforts addressing the well-being and learning of all children including socially disadvantaged children (VIDA Basis)
  • Targeted and inclusive parental involvement (VIDA+) supplementing VIDA Basis
  • Development of an educational environment that includes all children and strengthens possibilities for enhancing particularly socially disadvantaged children’s life opportunities.
  • Qualification processes in general day-care through methods of facilitation and management to spur knowledge sharing and collaboration on new efforts.

Four VIDA institutions each present how they work with the three VIDA principles: a resource-oriented and asset perspective, active learning and organizational learning.
Villa Maj, Gentofte, works with learning through inclusion of all the children in the overall child community at the daycare. Børne og familiehuset Resenlund, Brøndby, presents how they approach parent partnerships in new ways by including all members of the core family. Viborgvejens børnehave, Randers, works with organizational learning through systematic video observations, evaluations and analyses of gatherings that lead to new learning activities. Dagtilbuddet Østbirk, Horsens, works with educational management that motivates and generates a sense of ownerships of the VIDA project.

Workshop seats (approx. 100-150) will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, and registration for a workshop will take place in the morning of the conference, during registration and coffee.
Depending on the nationality of the participants, the working language may be Danish.
