The Danish School of Education at Aarhus University invites applications for an assistant/associate professorship in the fields of organisation and leadership studies, work and organisational psychology and organisational learning and innovation in relation to education, health and/or aspects of social work in private and public organisations.
The assistant professorship is a full-time, three-year training position which begins on 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The associate professorship is a permanent position which begins on 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is based at DPU campus Aarhus. The successful applicant will be a part of either the Department of Education Studies or the Department of Educational Psychology based at DPU campus Aarhus.

It is important that the successful applicant takes part in the daily activities of the department, including both teaching and supervising. Since the department is situated in both Aarhus and Copenhagen, the successful applicant should expect some travel activity between Aarhus and Copenhagen.

The position
Organisation and leadership studies, work and organisational psychology and organisational learning and innovation should be understood in broad terms and may encompass processual, socio-material and cultural aspects as well as social psychological, cognitive, emotional and work environment aspects. The successful applicant will be expected to help advance the integration of educational studies and educational psychology through teaching and research at the highest international level.

The successful applicant must have strong academic competences in organisation and leadership studies as well as in organisational psychology and organisational learning, and must be willing to participate in consolidating and expanding the field in terms of teaching and research. We are seeking an innovative and dedicated candidate who will contribute to Aarhus University’s core activities in the areas of research, education, talent development and knowledge exchange.

Research
We are looking for candidates with a research profile in one or more of the following areas: organisation and leadership studies, work and organisational psychology and organisational learning and innovation in relation to education, health and/or aspects of social work in private and public organisations. The successful applicant is expected to develop and achieve funding for new research projects and consolidate cooperation in the field across research units at the Danish School of Education.

The Danish School of Education places emphasis on research of the highest international standard, including interdisciplinary collaboration, participation in collective research projects and the attraction of external research funding.

The assistant/associate professor is expected to develop collaborative research initiatives with other fields at the Danish School of Education. The applicant must explain his/her visions for the development of one or more of the following research areas: organisation and leadership studies, work and organisational psychology, organisational learning and innovation at Aarhus University with respect to research and teaching.

In addition, it will be considered an advantage if the applicant can demonstrate a strong methodological profile with skills in collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Teaching
The assistant or associate professor will teach existing courses as well as developing new courses at BA and MA levels in educational studies and/or educational psychology at the Danish School of Education.

The assistant professor will be obliged to complete a course in university teaching designed especially for assistant professors.

In case of an associate professorship university pedagogical training or similar experience would be a prerequisite and teaching experience will be required in one or more of the following areas:
• Socio-material and cultural studies of organisations
• Leadership and complex social processes
• Working environment and organisational learning
• The classical social psychology of organisations
• The organisation and management of learning
• The development and innovation of organisations and human resources
• Human-technology interaction in organisational learning.

Talent development
If an assistant professor is appointed, he/she will be expected to develop his/her supervision capabilities at both BA and MA level.

If an associate professor is appointed, he/she will be expected to contribute to talent development within the fields of education studies or educational psychology, as well as supervising PhD students and teaching and developing PhD courses.

Knowledge exchange
It is expected that the successful applicant will engage in knowledge exchange as mentioned in the strategy for the Faculty of Arts, for instance in research cooperation with private companies, government consultancy, cooperation with civil society actors or the public dissemination of knowledge. Applicants should document any prior experience within the field of knowledge exchange.

Qualifications
The successful applicant for the assistant professorship must have a PhD or the equivalent in education science, psychology, sociology, organisation studies or another relevant field in the social sciences or humanities, and must be able to document:
• Strong academic competences in organisation and leadership studies, organisational psychology and organisational learning
• Competences within collaborative and interdisciplinary research, preferably with knowledge of qualitative as well as quantitative research
• An internationally oriented research profile
• Teaching experience in areas of relevance to one or more of the areas involved in the position, interdisciplinary teaching experience including innovative teaching methods, and mastery of academic Danish and English in the classroom
• A relevant and internationally oriented publication profile
• Experience of or interest in participation in national and international research networks
• Experience of or interest in communication and knowledge exchange
• Experience of interdisciplinary collaboration as well as interdisciplinary research
• Experience of or the potential for obtaining external research funding
• Experience of or interest in interdisciplinary teaching, including innovative teaching methods
• Experience of or interest in supervising student projects, and interest in researcher talent development.

The successful applicant for the associate professorship must have a PhD or the equivalent in education science, psychology, sociology, organisation studies or another relevant field in the social sciences or humanities, as well as research and teaching qualifications equivalent to those acquired in an assistant professorship, and must also be able to document:
• Strong academic competences in organisation and leadership studies, organisational psychology and organisational learning
• Competences within collaborative and interdisciplinary research, preferably with expertise within qualitative as well as quantitative research
• An internationally oriented research profile
• A strong, relevant international publication profile
• Participation in national and international research networks
• Experience of participation in collective research projects
• Teaching experience in areas of relevance to one or more of the areas involved in the position, interdisciplinary teaching experience including innovative teaching methods, and mastery of academic Danish and English in the classroom
• Proficiency in languages relevant to the area of research
• Fieldwork experience in the relevant area of research
• Experience of interdisciplinary cooperation
• Experience of or the potential for obtaining external research funding
• Experience of supervising student projects and an interest in researcher talent development.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the department’s academic environment. We emphasise the importance of good working relationships, both among colleagues and with our students. In order to maintain and develop the department’s research environment, the person appointed is expected to be present at the department at Campus Aarhus.
