A Danish and an Australian researcher share an interest in and concern for young people who don’t fit into the traditional education system. They both have the same mission: making the youth education system in their home countries more flexible, and providing young people with sound and well-structured educational guidance.

Quality education in the age of target numbers

Professor Gert Biesta from the School of Education at the University of Stirling, Scotland, explains that the terms ‘school’ and ‘teachers’ have acquired a bad reputation. Professor Biesta, however, defends the teachers’ right to teach, and argues that we should discuss the fundamental purpose of teaching.
